My wife chose a 2001 Durango with the 4.7 engine and it has plenty of power. She gets 22mpg on the road and 14mpg around town. I must admit that it is 2WD because she knows that two Power Wagons is enough in one household. As for her reccomendations , she frequently hauls fove and sometimes seven people more than 100 miles and says it is comfortable for all. She (we) have used the Durango to haul lumber. You can haul several 8foot 2x4s. The fold down seats are great when hauling gardening material and camping gear.
