thanks guys , the problem was the crank sensor.it was shorted just enough so that the computer could not tell it was shorted, but it made no wave form on a scope. we generally don't farm out used cars, i guess they think its cheaper to have one of our techs on the car for three days than to send it to a dodge dealer. and our "used car mechanic" is useless so the line techs have to do anything more dificult than general service. thanks again!
