OT Dodge Auto Tranny/Sub Zero Temps

I have a 98 Dodge 2500 Ram 4x4 with V10 and auto. In the past week, with temps way below zero, the tranny will not shift into overdrive till run maybe 10 miles. The rest of the day its fine. Just first start in the mornings. And the truck idles warming up to temp before I drive it. Is this typical with the Auto and Extreem Cold, or do I have a problem brewing ?
