Sunday it wouldn't start... Left it to pout. (No spark to the coil..) Took the dash apart and cleaned all the connections, resautered the alt guage as somehow the connection was getting loose. Swapped coil and ballast resistor. Strung a new 10 guage 12volt line from alt guage to starter solenoid... Starts 3 times Monday afternoon(after I got it back together). Cold/Hot starts didn't matter.

Tuesday morning... Fires right up, it's about 20 degrees outside. Take it to work, park it. Go out for lunch and the F#$%*% thing won't start again... Even tried jumping a 12 volt line right from the battery to the positive side of coil... No spark. Battery cranks the engine over. Any suggestions (All new... Ballast Resistor, electronic ignition, coil, starter solenoid... etc.) I've been at this gremlin for three years, the positive side of the coil with key on is seeing 6.48 volts (truck not running), positive side of coil with key on while cranking drops to 5.48...

Anybody at all ever seen this problem or know what the coil voltages SHOULD be for a running truck... The chiltons manual I have says nothing regarding voltages.

It's a 1976 Dodge w/400, 4-speed manual tranny.

I also had to make my way over to the Chevy forum because they used 3/4 ton Dana 44 full time axles too, in the 70's (of which I'm having trouble finding NEW/Aftermarket brake rotors and bearings for). However, they seem to only know one thing... How to make their trucks go FAST... Hell, nobody knows anything about brakes over there. Just FYI
