IMO, There are +'s and -'s for making the mods you intend. On the + side, are all the things you mention but consider that the engine is only one component to the entire system which includes transmission, drivelines, brakes etc etc. Like with any system if you make an adjustment it will ripple throughthe entire system. It is hard to say how much impack there will be. But to be sure thre will be some. I figuare that to put in an engine with high torque will adversely effect the transmission and drive lines. Remember the people who designed these machines were not fools, they components are carefully matched. Also if you intend on making this a daily driver, your brakes will not be reliable for heavy highway use. And you will then have to impact the truck more with better (disk brakes) see the effect go on and on. You will find that when you are done the vehicle will be so modified that its unique classic character is radically changed and so its value. Just my .02 cents worth.
