Painting the cab and hood?

Just getting information for the paint. I will be painting the Cab & Hood one color and the fenders Black. I do not have a bed to paint yet but it will be a flat bed and black also. How much Paint dose it take to do the Cab & Hood area properly. Also how much primer. The metal will be bare. Here is the good one, if it is painted red what type of primer and paint combination would be the best to do for durability and fade resistant. I am not spraying it another guy is and he has done this type of work befor but up on the new type of paints. Thanks for any help on this. Mark H.
