Power assist units have been used on Ford cars and trucks since the early 60's and I've seen a few late 60's Dodges 1-tons with
power assist steering.
The valve is located in the drag link.
I believe the main concern is, if the cylinder has adequite stroke length and possibly the fluid rate of flow? As long as the cylinder has enough stroke, it probibly will work.
