Hi Moby,

Well it sounds like your bottom bearing cup is bad. I guess you know what that means. Some other items to consider:

- Axles should fit snug in the bushings;
- More than likely you have bright areas on the outer vehicle side of the upper cone. This means excessive wear from the bad cup. Once you have the knuckle apart, and the cone off and cup out of the knuckle, clean them in solvent, let dry, place cup in the palm of your hand, place cone in cup. Grip the cup, with the other hand grab the cone and try to move it sideways. Keep the cone in one spot, grab a spot 90 degrees and try again. If you feel movement, you may want to replace the cone;

- Check your brake hose for cracks. Now would be the time to replace it;

- If you need to rebuild the wheel cylinder, if yours is 1.1/4 on one side and 1.3/8 on the other, then a Raybestos MK6 is the right one. The Raybestos book shows a different number;

- Gasket for the differential carrier is a Fel-Pro RDS4290. see Mike's note;

- Mine was futime also. As an alternative to select hubs, I got another set of front flanges, found a ball bearing the size of the axle and narrow in width, had a machinist remove the splines and recess the flange to accept the bearing. Although this requires changing hubs depending on what you want to do, it does allow for free wheeling on a budget. Good Luck!
