the later 251 L-heads in WM PW's are supposed to be industrial engines. They do have hardened exhaust valve seats,that can be replaced.Unleaded fuel does not pose a problem as far as I know for these engines.It is pretty common for folks who build and use the 60's and earlier v-8's to have the heads rebuilt converting them to hardened ex. valve seats so as to use todays fuels without worry.I suppose the same could be done with the earlier L-head engines?
