I know from experience (1 month in an 78 White beast) that shifting without a clutch at all "IS" without a doubt the easiest and fastest way to shift a nonsynchro gearbox. However the M37 box will be harder to shift than a semi anyway because the gear ratio splits are so big. So to easily shift you will have to get the revs way up and wait for thiem to get way back down before the speeds will be matched. It takes some practice and a lot of patience to learn.
Btw, I learned to shift this way by myself and in only a few miles of driving I rarely missed gears (and I'm only 19) so it must not be too hard to learn if I can do it. Good luck!!
