Harry is probably correct, the reverse band breaking IS the most common failure in mopar 727's (thats the only auto they ever used in the trucks). If you are comfortable with rebuilding engines, you can probably fix a tranny. Just get a good transmission manual, I've never worked on a tranny myself, but I've been told that for some assembly steps, the tranny must be stood on end or it will leak like crazy (you'll need to know things like that).
