200 feet of 7/16 wire rope is the most that will fit on the spool. You can get up to 300 feet of 3/8 inch rope if you want a lighter cable. 3/8 is now standard for 10,000 lb winches and is cheaper and easier to handle, 7/16 is stronger and costs more; both are rated high enough to hang the truck from a tree. You should also have between six an fifteen feet of 3/8 chain leader and a large slip hook. You should also carry a properly rated snatch block if you do anything serious. A good rigging shop can set all of this up for you.
