If your friend feels the need for a slightly taller gear, why not get him to change up to a 35/36" tall tire instead?? Some of the ranchers around here have found the same problem, as they have ALWAYS had 4.10 gears in their 3/4 tons, and never even thought to order the 3.54's. Going to the taller tire puts the overall drive ratio about even with the 3.54 gear and shorter tires, AND gets you a couple of extra inches of clearance to the axles to boot!! (not that any rancher would ever USE more ground clearance) Just a thought. J.V.L.
