As for sound deadening and noise abaitment I used closed cell foam in my Carryall. Closed cell foam will not absorb or hot water. It is available in many thicknesses. I bought a couple of ground sleeping pads designed for camping. They come in many thicknesses. I bought 1/2 inch thich ones then cut and glued it to the metal roof. I will put in a headliner soon and you will never know that it is there. You can find the sleeping pads on sale from time to time. I bought the smooth lite blue variety. Do not get the textured ones. You will not be able to glue them to the roof.
