The only coating that should ever be applied inside an engine or gearbox is Glyptal, as mentioned below. Anything else is a BIG mistake. The conditions inside an engine or gearbox are not compatible with regular coatings. I'm even sceptical even about using Glyptal...not the product, but risk of poor application which certainly would ruin an engine within minutes.
