I have to jump in here again.
All these suggestions don't apply to the question here.
Paint the inside of a PTO or not? DO NOT. There is no need to paint the inside of a gearbox. It's full of rust preventative oil.
Painting or sealing the inside of a gearbox is more risk than benefit.
Don't bother with it.
