My grandfather left me a 49 Power Wagon that I am fixing up. I am trying to get a net oil filter for it but have run into some problems.
The filter element I took out (and shown in the picture is a cast bronze or brass cone shaped element. My father believes this is a short lived "gimmic" filter element.
I am not sure that the oil canister is original.
What I have now is the oil line coming into the bottom of the canister, through a tube, up to the inside top of the canister, through the filter, then exiting the top side of the canister back to the engine.
The picture link shows the parts inside the canister and the order of assembly.
First the long spring, then a small rubber seal, the filter element, then the top lid with its "t" handle.
Is there anyone that can help me detremine what I have, and how I get a new filter?
