I have worked with railroads for many years, shipping carloads of various bulk commodities. I can tell you that they do not want your business. If they are not moving a minimum of 10+ cars, they do not want the business. You would have to pay for a flatcar, even though you only have one vehicle to move. You will have to pay to have car spotted at someplace with a drive- on ramp, or hire a crane to load it. You will have to have it blocked and tied down to railroad specs. This means you will have to pay a company that knows how to do this. If you have no drive-on ramp near the final destination, you will have to hire another crane to unload it. Gorget the railroad idea!
