so, lesseee, a 1953 M37 has antique u-joints, but a 1968 M37 has some kind of newer technology? When did they make the change? How can I identify the differences?

Sorry Fred, the technology is all the same, though the mettalurgy may be different. But do you KNOW that you are running factory origional parts on you 60 year old truck?

and what with sagging springs lowering you old truck, the greater angle of the 'crooked' shaft may actually be less than what the U-joints were designed for by the Chrysler Automotive Engineers.

and planned longevity has a LOT to do with specifications of parts, like my F-250 u-joints last 100,000 miles. My 41 dodge gets 2,500 miles per year. If I overload my ujoints so as they last only 50% as long, they'll last me 20 years.....
