Dan,
I respect your opinion, you seem as though you've spent a considerable amount of time researching this & it makes me optomistic that your truck has stood up this well.
The information that I have gathered is simply public opinion from transmission shops & people who have bought new trucks over the past two years including myself. Over the past 4 years I've owned a 2001 Dodge, 1995 Ford, a 1999 Ford, a 2000 Ford. All have been adequite, but I am striving for more than adequite & I believe that both Ford & Dodge know their transmissions are the weak link in the diesels. Of the people that I know, more have switched from Dodge & Ford to GM diesel over the past 2 years than I believe you could say have done the reverse, & that sadens me.
I love Dodge trucks as much as anyone on this forum. I only want the best for them & to see that their CTD continues to improve. It just seems like this has been an ongoing thorn in their heel, & I for one would be much happier if they addressed it. I hear that the new transmission is supossed to be a huge improvement & I scencerely hope it is.
No hard feelings...a man is entitled to his opinion & mine is that if you're in the market for a new Dodge CTD automatic...wait till next year.
