How to search state data bases for ffpw,s?

Since the title sales tax records are public domain under the freedom of information act has anybody tried to search in there own states for powerwagons that are no longer registered but still owned and in a barn or in a field? I have mailed a signed request and am waiting to see how many dodge trucks from 1945 to 68 show up cost is free except for $4 handling. Anybody do this, wonder what state has the most dodge trucks in there data base/records?
