well i believe that volume is nice but the pressure also helps with radiaters. you can prevent heat buildup when the system is under pressure.i talked to a guy who ran 454 chevy in a stock radaiter in a 54 chevy pu he said that he just went through it pressure tested it and put a 16 psi cap on it and it went fine. he then told me that if the 454 had a/c/ the stock radaiter would not be enough for the 454.
