Au Contraire, I siped the heck outta mine and it made a big difference om snow, ice and wet roads. I used a razor knife and cut diagonal v-grooves across the center rib and siped the heck outta the crossbars that run across the treads. Chains don't do diddly poop on these tires because the chains cross links drop down between the cross bars on the tread and the only place they touch anything in the 1.5 (or so)inches over the center rib. It is like chaining bicycle tires. Nothing helps on glare ice but different tires AND chains
