Newbie Question (seriously!)

My knowledge of flat fenders is limited. (no cracks about my knowledge in general!)
There is a WDX (guessing, since the serial numbers are missing) near me, the cab is a Dodge WC '41 to '47 civilian cab, fuel spout in cab and low skirt under the door (about 6 inches wide as opposed to the WM300 2" skirt, and a slightly different dash than the WM300. Is this cab a home, jury rigged job or did the early WDX use WC cabs???
