Before Dave Maher had announced that he had begun production on the new First Series Beds, I commissioned a local very talented & very well known guy to build one here in Canada for me. I just got back from his shop & it's almost done...delivery expected on Tuesday & man, you cannot tell it from a new bed. It is perfect in every way, identical to original & ready to paint. I took him an original bed that was beat pretty good & asked if he could repair it, but he felt it would be less expensive just to build a new one. I was sceptical, but I knew this guys reputation & I tell you, I couldn't be happier with it. I'll email pictures to anyone interested in it after Tuesday.
This guy is a magician, & although I certainly do not mean to say that Dave's beds are anything less than perfect(I'm sure they are), if you need a second or third series bed, this guy can do it for you & you won't be able to tell it from an original. Price for the 2 bed sides-$2000 Canadian, but whether he's anxious to do more for that price...I have no idea, you'd have to ask him.
