As per my info, all the "Spitfire" engines were based on the Chrysler/Desoto "long block" engine ie: 251, 265. You may even luck out and find one with the factory dual carbs and dual 2 1/2" exhaust manifolds. Not sure what years, but I got 2 sets of them off ov old 50's grain trucks up here. Check the trans and rear end combo. Some of the larger trucks back then that came with a single speed rear end, ALSO had a Clark 5 speed with overdrive in fifth. Would be a cool "period" upgrade for a PW. J.V.L.
