I'm going on threeyears and am now mechanically satisfied enough to paint. I think alot of the time the truck sat was during the parts gathering process. Rather than spending money working on her I was spending all my dough collecting the parts that I was afraid would be gone when I finally needed them. Then there was he discovery and $ involved with having to change the springs that I did not count on...

Speaking of painting, I had to spend my paint money on a compressor and tools because no body & paint shop would do my '49 FF. Too much body work, they'd all say. What? If I am paying by the hour what could be too much work? Obviously, they can make more ripping-off the insurance companies on flat-rate than they can doing my work by the hour! I'll probably do a better job since I will be incontrol of the sequence of work, installing seals, hood lace, weather strip in the order I think it should be done-and I won't overspray my just rebuilt engine and freshly painted engine compartment, either.
