Don't lnow about those mitsubishi's but I once came across a chrysler-nissan 6cyl. diesel that came factory in a 76 IH scout.
It was a 110hp 3600rpm eng. called a SD-3?
It was coupled to a 727 torqueflite auto tranny. Looked about the right size for a PW but with only 110hp I figured I'd just keep my 251 115hp flathead. A later turbo model had only 10 more hp. It sure would have looked and sounded good in my PW but without much if any gains I figured I saved myself alot of work and money. Strange how theres no in-line 6cyl. diesel that would fit in our PWs with any substancial HP gain over the 251. If someone could just adapt the 258 or 4.0 liter in-line 6(as used in Chrys. Jeeps).
