Dont buy a cheap winch! I got one used off a friend of mine. It was a 10000lb winch they used to pull a race car inside the enclosed trailer. Not much of a pull really.

This is one of those black Northern Tool type made in China dogs. It can either be mounted or has a bracket that slides over a ball on a hitch. I use this method and hook it to the ball on my bumper hitch and the trailer is hooked to the reciever.

I run a cord to the front of the truck to the battery and away I go. Its a slick setup but it darn near didnt pull a 1976 Regular cab long bed no engine or tranny truck on the trailer. It strained hard to get it up the ramps. A snatch block would have helped I am sure and I wonder if maybe I was loosing power from the long power cord that made it not pull good.

I dont think it it would pull a flat tire'd flat fender on the trailer.
