It will work, it is safe, you will need a lift, dont know how much, depends on each truck. If you check specs on the tire you wish to buy in the future all manufactures give a recomended rim with. The Michilins are a tall narrow tire made for narrow rims. I doubt you can exceed the weight rating for the tire with a staock pickup but maby. One thing you need to check is max speed rating. Some military application are only rated at 65 or so. You can exceed that with a light load but somthing to consider
