Yes Paul, I do think re-coating is necessary after many years since the oil "creeps" and I thinks you are right, it sort of evaporates in a way, but I've done it for years and all of my projects are sill looking good after many years too! When I get done with my WC and my Pw you bet they'll be oiled!! You should do your Bumble bee I'd hate to see it rust after all of your hard work.
