The link Vaughn posted states they were used for potable water (gotta love that fine canvas cloth taste). My understanding was you soaked the bag in water until it was completely saturated, then filled it and hung it on the front of the radiator. The water would weep out through the saturated canvas down the front of the radiator cooling it down. Anyone know for sure ?
