The motor is in DESPERATE need of a tune up, but it does ok until hills, then I have to drop out of 5th gear.
Some places I have to just cruise in 4th as the hills get to be to much.
But this motor is BONE stock, and with a couple hundred $$ (the cheapest Banks kit) I could pull some of the hills in 5th.
With just the trailer it goes most places in 5th, but loaded all the way up it loses a lot of pep.
Remember, this is a 97 12 Valve, what is that 205 HP? I bet in my current state of tune I have under 200 HP. Give me 230 HP and I would be fine.
The rest of the truck can handle it, though airbags would be nice, the truck has 160,000 on it, most of that with a gooseneck behind it, so the springs are a bit tired.
Overall, given what I put it through, it does real well, a valve adjustment, and having the injection pump looked at would realy help matters.
