My '64 w/318 has a pressurized system,..3-5 lbs. Very low pressure but works just fine, as does the heater core. Remember in those days the boiling point of water was still 212°. Now with high pressure sealed systems running hybrid coolants, you can run as high as 260° before boiling the system, that's probably why the 'ol canvas desert bags hanging on the front of the grill have disappeared from the scene.
