I’m the dummy who started the conspiracy theory. I pulled the photos of Marcus’ truck into Photoshop 7 because the color was so saturated I could not detect the edges of the doors. Then all I did was brighten the whole picture and the rectangular color swatches showed up. The door edges never did show up (I don't think, the photo is gone so I can't look again). Joe Cimoch was kind enough to kill the whole thread before it got out of hand, but here is what I’ve learned from this experience.

1. Marcus Rilling sounds like a great, standup guy. Matt and Kurte and Joe have all made sure I know this. I hope I have the privilege of meeting him someday. I’m glad his truck sold so quickly.
2. Joe Cimoch personally watches over the quality of the photos that go into the Photo Classifieds. He takes this part of his job very seriously.
3. Photos can be changed, and door edges lost, completely unintentionally, just by the jpg compression. It just happens. That’s what happened to Marcus’ photo.
4. The good folks on this forum would all be furious if they found out a photo misrepresented a truck, so they don’t appreciate the thought that it is even possible. However, just beware, if modern graphics tools can make wrinkles disappear, they can certainly make small dents and scratches go away.

I think the answer to this whole issue lies in looking at the beautiful photos Glenn Reid took of his ’62 WM-300. Nice high-resolution pictures that reveal every detail, where even the smudges tell a story, are fun to look at and hard to fake.

My apologies to Joe and Marcus for the trouble I caused.
