You know, I wonder just how dangerous smoking around Gasoline, etc is. I don't smoke, and I don't let anyone I am working with smoke around Gas, Propane etc.

But back in High School I used to work with old guys who would light up, and then go fill a grill size propane tank, or sit there smoking a cigar while filling the gas tank.

I know I have had gas leak from a carb on a 230, and spill on the hot exhaust manifold, with no fire.

Now I agree it is not a good idea, but what are the real risks? Is it like being killed by a Lion in NY city, or more risky then that?

Just wondering if all the warnings are just to be safe in general, or if the danger is EXTREME.

Thoughts?

Eric
