Hi again Glenn,

I have a 53 C-1 PW boom truck here that has some of the setup you are talking about. Most of it has been removed and I am not sure what it's function was in the role of this truck. The lever is on the drivers side at the end of the seat box to be operated by the left hand of the driver when seated. A rod travels along the front of the seat box with a short lever and rod going through the floor to the right side of the transmission. There is a second PTO on the right trans hole with the shaft facing to the rear of the truck. There is a bracket fabricated ahead of the transfer case where the hydraulic pump was located and a short shaft to the PTO. The lines then crossed back over to the left side of the truck and up to a platform above the running board behind the cab where the fluid tank and valves would have been. What part of the function of this boom truck it served I do not know as the boom is missing and most of the parts and route are missing.

An interesting aspect of this truck aside from two PTO’s is that there are seven different levers on the floor. There would be eight if all of the three shift rods on the non stock transfer case were used. The transfer case is as wide as the frame and would power a 10 ton. The steering gear, collum, and wheel are larger and will turn the wheels from lock to lock at a dead stop.

The Brass data plate on the inside drivers door identifies the conversion manufacturer label as Standard Material Handling Machine #711 654 Made by Barber Green Company Aurora Ill.

Thought you might find these photos and the truck kind of interesting. The photos were taken where and as I found it. Bought it as a parts truck but I don’t know now. I kind of like the brute.
