Yea, I hear you Dean...
Looks like it's only putting out 145 HP and 328 ftlbs of torque since it's the gasser. (So much for "SUPER POWER"!) I'm not sure what the Cummins offered would do or where to find one. A good repower would be a 466DT, but then I've got a whole bunch more money wraped up in this thing then I want to. I could put my 413 and 5 speed in it also... I just thought it would be neat for hauling a couple of PW's down to one or two of the annual events every year.
I've checked into the CDL before, as long as your not for hire or transporting HazMat, one is not needed. I would have to get a airbrake endorsement though. I asked the State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Enforcement fellow about all that. The cab is a bit bigger than a PW cab, and I have a set of air-ride seats out of a '95 E-one firetruck that need re upolestered I would put in it. I guess that would'nt do much for the suspension though.
Getting a CDL is no big deal in WA and I could potentially make a little bit of money here and there hauling stuff locally... OK..OK..I'm sorry, I cant BS you guys, That last line is just what I told my wife to try and sell her on the idea of getting a really neat old hauler!
