You should not have many problems, just use your same bell housing and the back end should all bolt right up. The engine will be 2 inches forward and you wil need to work out the forward engine mounts, radiator location and exhaust mods.

The 237 should rev better than the longer stroke big blocks (251/265) without any significant loss in HP. Balance the engine while it is apart and change the cast iron pistons if it has them. The spitfire head most likely will not increase the CR. Compare the to combustion chambers and see if one is smaller. You can mill the spitfire head and get about 8 to 1 fairly easy. I milled .080 and have not had any problems in about 2000 miles.
