the term GIN pole is widely misused by those who have never used a "GIN POLE"
they are vertical members used make lifts when constructing towers where cranes cannot get to the site. common in the 40's and 50's on powerline tower and oil derick construction still used to build high comm towers.
today most power (transmission lines) are constructed using air-cranes
A-Frames do stress the vehicle Frame and if not used correctly will spring/bend/break it
