Gasket cement

He guys help me out, I'm getting tired of leaky gaskets. What is the most bullet proof gasket cement available.I know that a oil free surface is key, but what holds up the best? Years ago that Indian Head gasket cement was great if you wanted to glue something together, black sticky goo. High Tack is a favorite of mine on paper gaskets, but silicone always seemed easier to seal things up. whats better? I'm tired of gaskets loosing their seal after a couple of years. Thanks for the help.
