To begin with the state(as of my last check, back in July, at the main office in Arlington) does'nt use the VIN, they use the motor # as ID for a truck that old.

Next, if you have a "bill of sale" with all the correct info listed your safe.(you don't have a title in your hot little hand when you leave the carlot with a new vehicle do you?)

Lastly, there are about three different ways to get a title here in the Republic. A "Bonded title"(jointly through the state and you ins. co.), "Lost Title"(if one exsists and just can't be found) and a "New Title"(one does'nt exsist, like on shop biult trailers. This is where you have to have the truck safty inspected and verified by a police officer).

By the way what are you doing that you are going to get pulled over anyway? What weigh station? I did'nt stop at a weigh station for any of the NUMBER of trucks I've bought including the one from our bordering contry to the north, Oklahoma.
