I think simply the fact that you don't see a single generator being produced today proves that an alternator is the better charging device, but all that being said...did any of you out there actually buy a Power Wagon because you thought it was the best 4X4 available?
The Dodge Power Wagon was very inovative for its day & remains a classic piece of 4wd & military history. Power Wagons will go down in history as the work horse of America....but really boys, there are many trucks out there in this age that are better on & off road than a Power Wagon. Many trucks such as the Mercedes Unimog are light years ahead of the Power Wagon if performance is all that you're looking for. I bought my Power Wagons because I love the history behind them. If it wasn't possible to rebuild a vintage generator, I guess I'd have to consider switching to an alternator, but so long as I can still service my ol' generator, she's stayin' put.
