Marty, mine has a few dings from over the years of duty that I wouldn't dream of removing. The cracked glass in the wing window is a different story. I believe the minor differences adds value :) I did think you were referring to PWs, and not plain old firetrucks, my appology! There are a few PW nuts on the West coast that have some VERY nice reconditioned and unrestored PW BrushTrucks and utility PWs (my guess is in the $10k-$25k range)! I guess it's O.K. to let a few PWs slide into the collectors Concours d'Elegance, never again to return for work & pleasure. I prefer the really clean (rust free), well running, upgraded, drive 'em through the woods, PWs :) & don't really care what box is on the back, what niche accessories are installed, if it's been shortened/lengthened/widened, has an upgraded drive train, or put on tracks. PowerWagons is NOT a spectator sport! My "collectors" Matchbox Flatfender is sitting on a shelf in my wife's china hutch. My work in progress (B-4-PW) just made it into the garage for the "winter"(it does not get cold in California) where I will tinker with it just enough to maintain my sanity, or until it sells. Thanks again for your courteous and informative post, always a pleasure !!!
