My wife worked on a 56 FF frame for about 2 weeks off and on using a drill with a wire bursh. She also used my Angle grinder with a Knot wire bursh. For the hard to reach places, and places where the round wheel would not fit, she used a Air Needle gun.
The air needle gun is what welders use to break off slag from a weld. She did a great job ! ! , and we coated the frame with Rustoleum for winter protection. Its in a shed so a quick coat will work for a few months.
But honestly, she did a great job, but the final results were not good. To much scale that the wire brush did not remove. After all her work, a good blasting with black beauty is still needed.
