Bias tubes in Radial tires

I know this is not the best idea. My understanding is that the radial tires are rough inside and will rub through the thin bias tubes with use.

My question is, how long does this take? My truck probably gets driven 100 miles a year, MAYBE, so if it takes, say 1000 miles, my bias tubes will still be good once the radial tires have rotted away.

Has anyone used radial tires with bias ply tubes? What happened?
