Dan, good point on the Portapower. I was not thinking of using the Portapower to move pins, but rather some type of lock jaws. I had in mind something akin to the Ladder Bed Locks on a Seagrave 100' rear turntable ladder. Granted, they are air operated, but the 2"x2" lock bar moves in and secures the ladder when in the bed. Air also pulls them out to unlock the ladder.

I am 2 years out from building the swivel frame. As I work on my Carryall however, the swivel is always being toosed around.

I am thinking of making the swivel joint much the same as on the CAT off road midship articulating dump trucks, but on a much smaller scale. A Cat Engineer told me the joint they use on the dumps can handle up to 150,000 pounds. So on a smaller scale a PW weight should not be a problem. I believe that with modern technology and bearings a super slick swivel can be built.

Paul
