To get the government approval to install these swivel mechanisms, they had to be stronger than the original frame itself. To test, it Harry Willock installed the swivel on a test frame and pulled it apart to see where it would give first. The original crossmembers failed before the swivel joint. Willock also tested the load capacity, by placing loads directly over the joint untill failure. The frame bent before anything.
Power to the rear axle is not transmitted through the joint, so I dont see how a motor with 120 more hp than stock would effect it.
I would just fire up the 230 a little anyway, not install a v8
