I just read some of the complaints about Don Bunn's new book. Most people are complaining that his book is inaccurate. Well some of his old books were not perfect either, for instance on page 122 of "Dodge Pickups, history and restoration guide 1918-1971" he has a picture of a 1961-1966 Power Wagon Town Wagon. The Town Wagon is labeled as a 1960, the hood is 1960, but the truck is not. The grill and front fenders give it away as a 61'-66'. I am not pointing this out to put Don Bunn down, only to say that books have errors, and while I'm sure everyone works to keep them out of a book, they happen.

I do think that it would be in Mr Bunns best interest to have his books proofed by some PW experts before publishing. But in all fairness, who else is going through any effort to write books on Dodge trucks?

I use books for information, and I would feel better if I could trust everything I saw in a book. But I know that I need to go to many shows, look at many trucks, and talk to many people before I can sort truth from fiction. Six months ago, I would have accepted the picture I talked about as what Mr Bunn said it was, only after crawling around several PW TW's, looking at tons of pictures, and talking to many people, have I gained enough knowledge to be sure I am right. Don Bunn can't have spent the kind of time it takes to become an expert on all types of Dodge trucks, so he does the best he can.

That brings me back to one of my earlier points, and that is that Don Bunn should make use of some of the experts out there, to proof his book.

Sorry for the length of this post, but I thought it needed saying.

Eric
