Dear John,
I presently own a M-37 too. First off I'm not an expert, but I've asked this question before, not on here, but to some other friends. Here's the answer. As with my case it's, IF IT'S NOT BROKE DON'T FIX IT. But, if it's broke it's probably cheaper to go 12v. Here's what you have to do. Change the generator, regulator, distributor, and starter. Vintage Power Wagons sells the items for a civilian power wagon of that era, or you could find a 50's dodge truck or car and change over maybe cheaper. but that's not all you'd have to change. Lights, gages, you could do this by possibly installing 12v bulbs and using your existing wiring harnesses. But also you'll have to add wires for your new 12v mech. accessories. If this doesn't sound very clear e-mail me at juestphal@aol.com maybe I can clear some things up for you. Good Luck,
Mark
